Just a quick group shot of these chaps as I've not done one yet and to make it a months worth of thursdays:
I can't see myself likely to extend the squad past this or else they won't fit in the chimera that they so desperately need. I've used them in one game so far and they got fear of the darknessed straight off the board the second I got them out of their box. Lesson Learned!
I absolutely love the idea behind these guys and that you took the time to greenstuff their jackets.
ReplyDeleteI do think the fronts look better than their backs though. The backs look like muscle shirts and not so much jackets.
Regardless, I still love the unit's look overall. Wonderful work.

For your 1st and third many thanks!
ReplyDeleteTo your second: I agree. I wanted to have them looking like they were bursting out of their odd fitting jackets but wasn't really good enough and certainly not planned enough to achieve it, not to mention that it was inconsistant from front to back. They probably should have had stitching visible somewhere like on the trousers. Still something to learn from if I ever decide my tallarns (or cadians or vostroyans or mordians) need some ogryns... I'm still pleased with them overall, how they look like they just aren't disciplined/hygenic enough to achieve the smartness/cleanliness of the praetorians at large.
I really like these guys. The pith helmets are excellent and the overall look is great. I think the ill fitting look works well, and its fun to think that these ogryns have wanted the nice shiny buttons like their comrades. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks AJ!
