I spent quite alot of time on this fellow, using decals I normally can't be bothered with and all!<br />
<br />
The model is lovely and has so much detail to paint. Although mine had a few mold errors in albeit in quite discrete places. I did something different with the sword although I'm not completely sold on it to make it look unlike my other power weapons. I hope you like him!<br />

Slightly from above so you can see his odd head stuff implant things.. I prefer helmets as a rule and sometimes like to put a helmet on the belt if not on the head but I really couldn't find room anywhere for one and liked this head just too much. It goes well with the old Baal scarred wasteland look if not the new golden locked covermodel vampire thing GW seems to have rolled into for the BA.</div>

I picked up two lovely base coated and transfer stuck razorbacks from ebay and enjoyed the very easy process of weathering them and finishing off the details. I also did a quick weapon swap from the heavy bolters they came with to assault cannons taken from the dark angels ravenwing upgrade sprue.<br />

It will probably be the only time I get to stick down all three of these at once for along time and it was the first time I had all three painted to be able to so this was quite exciting. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Turn 1 saw me kill a viper and assorted harlequins, almost a whole guardian squad and glance a prism tank, limited somewhat by nightfighting. I lost my vindicator and a knight to a charging eldar knight.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7ms6x3Z_2MPJFaiV00SJolQtgirZMFGZei7r-XjsotJVnNu-15aVK559YT_BnOQganZkjYP8xHsBZ6eLnX3vS230y1_GBiDwjGVbfrS_ULrJtC7MHTMqe7xRpmXkl_dKi7NPgLtrfhMg/s1600/IMG_3191.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7ms6x3Z_2MPJFaiV00SJolQtgirZMFGZei7r-XjsotJVnNu-15aVK559YT_BnOQganZkjYP8xHsBZ6eLnX3vS230y1_GBiDwjGVbfrS_ULrJtC7MHTMqe7xRpmXkl_dKi7NPgLtrfhMg/s320/IMG_3191.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My remaining knights charged the single eldar knight and one survived to remove it from play. (its worth mentioning if my opponent has split its attacks he'd have killed both, eldar knights are needlessly amazing.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I forgot to take anymore photos... whoops. The eldar army spent the next few turns concentrating on removing my knight from play. I went for his prism tanks but left on a single hullpoint and cleaned up two squads of firedragons in vipers alongside the last guardians and a harlequin squad.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The game finished early on turn 5 with both sides on 9KP's, we had decided to use no other win conditions because sometimes its just fun to smash face. A well earned draw for everyone involved and great fun was had by all. Probably particularly me as I got to enjoy that freshly painted models on the table moment.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2ChGg90ISceKBqpESY2hFLAdqnTOaicZUlrY1FYy9vbPo_AOvClw-bJlTvAfn8vQvJQs-Fs3bCwoyLwG0MILJDUcqv2sI6Qo-AXuPyUlmnN1lgN6qiqDybbGry07IcA8ctkV85jNBpW4/s1600/IMG_3173.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2ChGg90ISceKBqpESY2hFLAdqnTOaicZUlrY1FYy9vbPo_AOvClw-bJlTvAfn8vQvJQs-Fs3bCwoyLwG0MILJDUcqv2sI6Qo-AXuPyUlmnN1lgN6qiqDybbGry07IcA8ctkV85jNBpW4/s320/IMG_3173.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I got a bit technical with this guy and painted the machinery parts first and based armour plates individually while trying to spray as if they were attached while thinking about light zenith. He's also magnetized so he can weapon swap and to help his body and legs hold together. I did the faceplate completely first because I just wasn't sure on it but its grown on me and now it might be my favourite. My affections are clearly fickle when it comes to faceplates. Next up was sponge weathering and brush painted scratching.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3pHZGQ93Gbgv3bUoudx3fox4V1Ma-m3s4QmJB3kaPeB9mQ_z7TpYCWFj9pehWqwHbO7gyU9iCEn6r1860EgrfRuxbobHY0uZAB-HiihUUTkb5bU69lx7AmraW1Mhlj2k871SYVgnvRSA/s1600/IMG_3177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3pHZGQ93Gbgv3bUoudx3fox4V1Ma-m3s4QmJB3kaPeB9mQ_z7TpYCWFj9pehWqwHbO7gyU9iCEn6r1860EgrfRuxbobHY0uZAB-HiihUUTkb5bU69lx7AmraW1Mhlj2k871SYVgnvRSA/s320/IMG_3177.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And finished the guy suddenly! Yeah so in my painting fervor I forgot to take more photos of my progress but I'm very happy with how he's turned out. I followed the same steps as with Knight #2 although he's configured more like Knight #1 armwise.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha5Xsn6IlcJdXQMUcjlY2uUG2RZOQEDLCFpKJ7bOBt7SZX2KATgBeYrbo6umaIu18wjIDnxdO-0u_A0vxQxvpv6ad1-Mt5voO_v3tMbuiBxSMK6oO1_j9MaEhI0QrdPus2nu1GqphW2jI/s1600/IMG_3178.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha5Xsn6IlcJdXQMUcjlY2uUG2RZOQEDLCFpKJ7bOBt7SZX2KATgBeYrbo6umaIu18wjIDnxdO-0u_A0vxQxvpv6ad1-Mt5voO_v3tMbuiBxSMK6oO1_j9MaEhI0QrdPus2nu1GqphW2jI/s320/IMG_3178.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Based! I used the airbrush to get his feet and bottom of the legs and armour good and dirty. Rather than do something scenic and complicated like knight #2 I decided to do a much more simple but busy base using mainly elements from the basing set and some GS to give it a bit of depth. I seem to have put vast numbers of helmets onto the base so gave them a variety of legion colours to mix it up. Maybe I should do a FW one next... or just some warden's... tough choices.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The other knightly faceplate here, I wanted them all to have different ones. I guess for number three I'll have to use the skull one I don't like or pick up a Knight Warden helmet... but then what will I use when I impulse buy three knight warden's?! I'm tempted/miffed by the new Knight renegade box set, it seems insane value!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Close up time! You can just about see his eye lenses, if you squint hard and use a torch..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I called this one Ares after the god of war. A short name for the scroll so I fancied up the letters to add some bulk! The 'S' looks a bit Dollar signy... ah well. ARE$ god of profitable war.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And with a gun, the housing is a bit curvy on the wrong side being designed for the other arm in classic GW shortsightedness before they did dakka ones and all the new gubbins. Still I'm very pleased to get this guy onto the finished shelf. Ooo I also gave him a coat of varnish to seal in the decals and help them blend into the model better and I used some tuft bits on the base, a great use for the needlessly massive ones army painter and GW insist on giving you so many of. I'm going to try and speed paint number three, painting the under armour and the armour plates seperately. Of course I might get distracted and just do something else... but that's the plan!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Popped some decals on him, these are always a bit of a pain being so large and delicate, I find I need to do things like slice between all the eagles 'feathers' to ensure there is no warping over that massive shoulder pad. I also painted the mechanicum icon on his right knee and totally failed to get a close up... whoops. I used white as I lost one of my three transfer sheets to make my remaining one go a bit futher but actually really like the white/red contrast.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Cg-44Seii-cOBfcPmxDl-6hTTOkL4fktszYVQAdNyo2X29yRDstP4wuB_iPP_gPbxdk8raOnwhl9mS3Trni-naHXbU8FVdpsBxlWf_TrARwVv9P2Bu1y_e9RQA9RJkGK4_Bf_llqgJQ/s1600/IMG_3155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Cg-44Seii-cOBfcPmxDl-6hTTOkL4fktszYVQAdNyo2X29yRDstP4wuB_iPP_gPbxdk8raOnwhl9mS3Trni-naHXbU8FVdpsBxlWf_TrARwVv9P2Bu1y_e9RQA9RJkGK4_Bf_llqgJQ/s320/IMG_3155.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Again I slice around all the clear bits to help avoid warp and two slices in the skull around the middle of the forehead. They're not quite even at the bottom but it helped to even out the massive cog difference at the top!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's just the Calth plastic dread with a deathwing terminator cyclone missile launcher on top who I carved up and stuck back together with a little more motion as I don't generally see the Blood angels as a stand about statically kind of legion. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The deathwing launcher from above, perhaps I should have removed the sword detail but was lazy.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
"Sorry son!" I wanted to fill the base with something interesting that might help pull the eye away from the deathwing launcher and Calth dread knee pads that blend into the metal joint too much, etc. so I knocked out this guy out of a calth torso, reaver head, palatine blade empty hand and some GS to give the impression of legs (well... leg) and a back pack.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The back, if you look closely at the leg and torso joins you can just about see where they've been cut apart and restuck but I think its not obvious enough to ruin the model.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So here's pretty much where I'm at, closing on a year since I got this guy base coloured. Who says I never get around to things eh? I weathered the red with a sponge using the highlight orange (wild rider red) and dark brown(rhinox hide). Minor chipping in places with the brown and metal on a few sharper exposed edges. Brass scorpion with watered down nihilith oxide and silver trim were both toned down with agrax earthshade. You can see the legs are yet to be shaded and weathered here but I got round to it below!</div>

Blood angels kitbash Chaplain <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Today I got down to the details on my pet chaplain project. I knew as soon as I saw the Night Lords terror squad heads I was going to use one for something like this and I had picked up Evanus Enkomi's body sometime back and so I got to it and bashed out a chaplain and primed him black. He doesn't have a crozius so I might pinch the one from calth and pop it on a belt loop or something later but I like him as he is:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Ho1EtAbtGz8l1QEQylDWwRGMdJ82bgSxTo3Ud2U5dCdufIgIsYymi3ORjcLy6pUNFMoF9XBhWz8m26joQgNN6uGvXajSNAg9mJEBDgClqHPYmzWJlK5ts6g3yAXFHLYranBXPoci29o/s1600/IMG_2960.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Ho1EtAbtGz8l1QEQylDWwRGMdJ82bgSxTo3Ud2U5dCdufIgIsYymi3ORjcLy6pUNFMoF9XBhWz8m26joQgNN6uGvXajSNAg9mJEBDgClqHPYmzWJlK5ts6g3yAXFHLYranBXPoci29o/s320/IMG_2960.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a vision of my average idea of a chaplain, resplendent in bone, black and golden armour. With a little red spot colour to blood angel him suitably. However I did the bone in a shade of blue grey as a nod of the head to the night lord head. and then the red contrasted with this rather well and I had to rethink my plan.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizs0WqH55hlIbkzhh7hhdIt8OtCmbJYbWdl0MBu0bpHmBxZDEYLlOKD_JztEXQzf8hrpovhdB1Xo_7tB5gf2DzpIM9Vqb4rFzGkhHv_Qx-GbPqPRAQipuKweC03naU5IGGNViDWxcvJ_I/s1600/IMG_2964.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizs0WqH55hlIbkzhh7hhdIt8OtCmbJYbWdl0MBu0bpHmBxZDEYLlOKD_JztEXQzf8hrpovhdB1Xo_7tB5gf2DzpIM9Vqb4rFzGkhHv_Qx-GbPqPRAQipuKweC03naU5IGGNViDWxcvJ_I/s320/IMG_2964.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had thought to do the sanguinary guard shoulder pauldron's and the metal plates on his legs a gold/brass colour, I then thought maybe some heavy verdigris could help to keep the temperature balance between the cool bone and black highlights and the red but in the end after a discussion with a friend via whatsapp I went for a more neutral dark silver with a light verdigris and nuln oil wash.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilGJKlGL8Kcvo_m_ZFsqpsQ_lyqkZycNB0_fcPSP7bn4hIm2Du8_QiI5OljdEArv-_GbUQ3f8aIrvsUzpFSZnpS9_E9qincSDIp1k6gPqkQB3jAtqarHky_DdNETOIT7BeAYdXc3e3c_c/s1600/IMG_2966.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilGJKlGL8Kcvo_m_ZFsqpsQ_lyqkZycNB0_fcPSP7bn4hIm2Du8_QiI5OljdEArv-_GbUQ3f8aIrvsUzpFSZnpS9_E9qincSDIp1k6gPqkQB3jAtqarHky_DdNETOIT7BeAYdXc3e3c_c/s320/IMG_2966.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was also a cooler tone and then the addition of the scrolls and basing in warm browns helped to keep everything in line.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdyOK_yUgQFFJSyl5WcKGK_eCe-Vy1fvFYCl9rCaYydk5QajTlExK5UMTC1Xue8I4qqETBKQaaHXu5xudZR-EtLruwiz8Qil6osqYsGdxqnjFLubfTgG3HZAAF0apAxsskloZmLemJKiQ/s1600/IMG_2967.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdyOK_yUgQFFJSyl5WcKGK_eCe-Vy1fvFYCl9rCaYydk5QajTlExK5UMTC1Xue8I4qqETBKQaaHXu5xudZR-EtLruwiz8Qil6osqYsGdxqnjFLubfTgG3HZAAF0apAxsskloZmLemJKiQ/s320/IMG_2967.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For those who are wondering about the blood drop, when I carefully trimmed off the minotaurs chapter symbol from the chest I was able to carve the resin into a fairly centred drop shape. (It is slightly askew but the leaning pose hides it well!)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiig_PifqV0xmdVF3kgr2pHWWaJ0cDY1IaUIHZxQHg-ZjX9RRgrA7ykT1NT9iufoaCL4zRNWHMC6PKek9O8F29US6Z6cJ_ntdPXXv0LASw-PXQvlnD_5AglOXW7gyV6xc3PViBS_VjcPgc/s1600/IMG_2970.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiig_PifqV0xmdVF3kgr2pHWWaJ0cDY1IaUIHZxQHg-ZjX9RRgrA7ykT1NT9iufoaCL4zRNWHMC6PKek9O8F29US6Z6cJ_ntdPXXv0LASw-PXQvlnD_5AglOXW7gyV6xc3PViBS_VjcPgc/s320/IMG_2970.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A back view. I chose (all but one) blood angel bits that had blood drop gems on to push the obvious chapter tie given I was going for two fairly distinct pieces from other chapters to make up the bulk of the model and have a more even distribution of red bits all over the model to draw the eye.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnj-7rzkHtbstRqqQQtFJAKksSs3_81JdkaQDqe3LfBX8DgWjrT9itLvMS7Esjn6sFtBV3veh8I3LMOoVRbNDS790Q90y12Fd9jo2jmt50gVDdslXpcf1U9B1gHjrtjKGX7iCEoecZ0SA/s1600/IMG_2971.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnj-7rzkHtbstRqqQQtFJAKksSs3_81JdkaQDqe3LfBX8DgWjrT9itLvMS7Esjn6sFtBV3veh8I3LMOoVRbNDS790Q90y12Fd9jo2jmt50gVDdslXpcf1U9B1gHjrtjKGX7iCEoecZ0SA/s320/IMG_2971.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Not my best script but it will do. Perhaps I'll repaint it sometime I have more light.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTAvu5TJPLo05tUF00wC06Pmu9Fm6d-FL_RWAREGTF8C45rhy3VrjKME2TFec_ktsDmjsxiSDVKvzC9UmYAikJllS3McXzTl37r3-xOSSCkAPvofgr0era01hNDAxX8WHXhqn-gAx1v-Q/s1600/IMG_2972.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTAvu5TJPLo05tUF00wC06Pmu9Fm6d-FL_RWAREGTF8C45rhy3VrjKME2TFec_ktsDmjsxiSDVKvzC9UmYAikJllS3McXzTl37r3-xOSSCkAPvofgr0era01hNDAxX8WHXhqn-gAx1v-Q/s320/IMG_2972.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added stronger highlights to the shoulder guards than on the rest of the black armour to help their details not be completely lost beside the paler skull and rib cage detail.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVV43DQvk20SLkyv6fewnwAcsbGhIi5K7br5z5hOjhjq_NCOIjSKWffkPSKDu2HfiY8TAHvWCYWRzWaUiOdvpghay5Mri1-V_ihpx_jc2ompAHVFQYLOrsQlnv_uBCIIcT34xy_oauN_k/s1600/IMG_2973.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVV43DQvk20SLkyv6fewnwAcsbGhIi5K7br5z5hOjhjq_NCOIjSKWffkPSKDu2HfiY8TAHvWCYWRzWaUiOdvpghay5Mri1-V_ihpx_jc2ompAHVFQYLOrsQlnv_uBCIIcT34xy_oauN_k/s320/IMG_2973.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love a yellow stripe. It's probably a bit much against the rest of the model, but it ties in with the unit he will be deployed with who are all very red to his black armour. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm very happy with the final result although I can't help but wonder how he would have looked if painted in the other scheme to compare. I think this is the first time I've made a major change to what I'd had planned mid way through painting something. Short of a full repaint, changing a minor detail or adding more detail to what I'd set out t do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you like him and the moment of insight into the painting process. What do you think about the yellow? Or my decision to change my colour palette plans part way? Would gold have looked better?</div>

This has been looking at me for the last 6 or so years wondering when I'm going to show it some love. So I did! I'd bought it off ebay with a base coat and highlight done and I'd shaded it then put i aside. I did a bit of various weathering effects all over to break up the red and did some details and based. The eyes look a bit over the top straight on but fine on the tabletop. Niggley details were what I wanted to avoid and enjoyed painting something different to tactical marines.<br />

I started on the calth plastics and mass of random resin I've gathered in preparation for blood angels legion building. My first batch of 20 is stuck, along with the contemptor which I cut to pieces before sticking back together in order to give it a less static pose more like that of the resin FW ones.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They contain bits from calth, palatine blades, FW MKIV legion assault marines, Ultramarine, Blood angels, Sons of horus headsets. They need some sand, helmets, rocks and other basing bits before being sprayed.</div>

I popped some bits together to look like a Sons of Horus Reaver having been shot up and about to be trampled. I need to check the rules, perhaps I need to get one of the resin missile launchers, maybe a terminator launcher will do?</div>

When I've got a little time these will be getting based and batch airbrush based.</div>

I often forget to take pictures of things as I go, most notably when I'm painting to take things to a friend's place for a game where my painted blood angels tend to live as he very decently uses his flat like a gaming club for us. This unfortunately means when I remember I meant to take a picture of my guys, they're not always with me! So I thought I'd pop up a group shot of all my heresy area marines so far:</div>

A quick side shot better shows how the airbrushed basing blends the models into their bases. No time to clean your feet mid battle! A touch of free hand to fill the shoulder pad space where I didn't have enough FW legion pads.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just a quick post about the new (ish) GW Airbrush paints. I was pretty thrilled to see these come out as being able to colour match my guys and tanks using a brush or spray is great, I've previously used mephiston red spray but its a bit pricey and army painters dragon red slightly less if still pricey but dusty sprays to base my guys and then built up with paler reds to give the desired finish which has left me with a few different looks to my marines. Being able to spray on an undercoat, then the next two layers of red from a zenith to leave shadows ready to shade, highlight, weather and detail would save so much time! In fact I also went for airbrushing the bases to minimize time I'd have to spend on that too!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As you can see I was starting off with a mish mash of previously painted off ebay guys and some new fw suff with my normal kit bash mix of resin/plastic. I airbrushed on the black undercoat in vallejo black and then went in with the reds. Mephiston and then evil sunz scarlet.</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
The general coverage of the models was nice with good control, no blocking and spattering and a good even coat applied, without being too thick, straight from the pot. (Without a dripper pot I used a printer ink syringe to fill up the airbrush hopper on the go so I didn't have to stop mid way, this makes them trickier to use but then at the end you can put any excess paint back in the pot. So good and bad.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHhBKRmTh_5xH5nLGESqCn1nqacB6gd5YZRRRDHUGSVeGnVyklLocveNzQaL_glr_BML-v6x1bi8fBPggYfkGCEkYtVSSIm74y0DcKMyzfHWCuj557GDcycn539NvIXufq_bHmL2L9q2k/s1600/IMG_2590.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHhBKRmTh_5xH5nLGESqCn1nqacB6gd5YZRRRDHUGSVeGnVyklLocveNzQaL_glr_BML-v6x1bi8fBPggYfkGCEkYtVSSIm74y0DcKMyzfHWCuj557GDcycn539NvIXufq_bHmL2L9q2k/s320/IMG_2590.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The flow of the paint didn't cause any issues in coverage of the models but it did seem to clog up the airbrush quicker than a vallejo paint usually would. I find I periodically have to stop and clean my airbrush whatever paints I'm using, with these GW paints it was a little more often than with the Vallejo or MIG I've used before. Perhaps a less finely ground pigment issue?) Either way this wasn't a big deal other than it taking a little longer to get the batch finished. (Still alot less time than one by one using a brush mind!)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmb41PKM9lbXDTE3kzrbEt6gsOwl-cmp9q_Sca6BoiNKE2EIXh1OnBUCTzzcbEASBSKll4a5OZcrfgZ4vN871PXHJuXALpGHBZ3tZJhLotvxZqQQxH1I7CtT9XrPVjvii6G8kFo8mqIC4/s1600/IMG_2591.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmb41PKM9lbXDTE3kzrbEt6gsOwl-cmp9q_Sca6BoiNKE2EIXh1OnBUCTzzcbEASBSKll4a5OZcrfgZ4vN871PXHJuXALpGHBZ3tZJhLotvxZqQQxH1I7CtT9XrPVjvii6G8kFo8mqIC4/s320/IMG_2591.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I went back and did the bases with browns another day, although I forgot to take a picture, sadly I didn't finish all my batch of Iron armour guys as I ran out of black undercoat! Doh! Still I got enough done to keep me going for awhile. I never finish anything I seem to start at the moment anyway so we will see how many I can get done before I distract myself again!</div>

I've had a bit of a turn around and decided to move away from the grey I did on my vendetta. It was done some time ago and I think my current desert colour scheme is better, more interesting to look at than something that's mainly grey and silver and ties in better with my tanks when they're all the same basic colour scheme.<br />
<br />
This leaves me with somewhat of a quandry regards my older vendetta (and the other two I've got still siting in pieces in boxes some years after I did the first... sigh.) will I repaint the old one. Will I paint the newer two with the new colours. Should I stick to gunships being an imperial navy colour scheme and if so could I make it more interesting with some fenris blue-grey cammo and perhaps some sky underbelly? Anyway for now my three valkyries that I've had in a cupboard for about three years now are getting some desert cammo with sky belly love.<br />
<br />
I've never done any masking before so don't really know what I'm doing, I've just used invisible tape as it was what I had to hand! Seems to have worked out really pretty well oddly/luckily enough..<br />
<br />
The cockpits and interiors were prepainted by whoever I bought them off on ebay. They've got some fun colour helmets which I like even if they're not quite up to the standard I'd have done them I don't want to risk breaking all the canopy bits ripping them off so that's how they're going to stay.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started off by masking off the cockpits and giving all three a coat of army painter leather brown on all the cammo areas.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can make out my dodgey invisible tape masking, especially where I began to remove it before taking the shot! I airbrushed on some skyblue.</div>

and once more for luck. You can better see the contrast here, I chose to do sidewalls in cammo with the idea the blue would be very visible if the plane was on the ground, I like how it looks even if its wrong!</div>

Weathering proper began on one wing to check out it looked alright. I used a brush to do sharp thin strokes using rhinox hide and then metal along panel and wing edges where damage might be caused. I used sponge weathering to add lighter damage to the main parts of panels, perhaps where paint has distorted a peeled in the sun and finally small lines of highlighted semi circles containing a line of rhinox hide to represent where old chips and scratches had occurred trough the paintwork and then left to tarnish over time.</div>

The plane is going to fly a building around with it... its a bit large I know but otherwise the massive bases look rather empty with just normal flock and rubble on. Has anyone one looked on ebay for adeptus arbite models recently? Wow they're expensive...<br />
<br />
So I decided to use space marine scouts with shotguns and give them elysian heads from forgeworld. The aim was to look sufficiently grim dark and give a nod of the head to Judge Dredd.<br />
<br />
I chose a black and grey colour scheme with bright spot colours to draw the eye a little. I wanted to speed paint these guys (complete fail on the repressor in that regard.) and I wanted to try out using my airbrush to zenith highlight these guys to save any painting with a brush before detailing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFrFfMQGXUPLOfL4qhHujNA1NGlIBUNV28sVWBDutVYSU_c8rIV67SDvcJ7DtY_tvjdhTnIk_h3uCl1HeO-IpOaIAg7fJTF1Km9yutsqx1H1URtTfWZiJTfY_7eEp-j2KXjSO9QvL7yOk/s1600/IMG_2321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFrFfMQGXUPLOfL4qhHujNA1NGlIBUNV28sVWBDutVYSU_c8rIV67SDvcJ7DtY_tvjdhTnIk_h3uCl1HeO-IpOaIAg7fJTF1Km9yutsqx1H1URtTfWZiJTfY_7eEp-j2KXjSO9QvL7yOk/s320/IMG_2321.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I undercoated them in chaos black spray. (Thinking of buying a Vallejo air primer, anyone got any experiences of these? Good colours etc.?) Then used dark grey and light grey from above and on the base with a little sky blue mixed in to the dark grey (to go with my friends city board).</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With some bright colours! the red and the yellow on the helmets are my nod to dredd's red rimmed faceplate and gold icon on the helmet.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMAUvD564GL7FTnegWZedSjGbtICgXiAonOWZ21-8ULcp23J4ia0oMeVlWO9joIGb5R9aKOoYVZ6BdydpRPy7E0AWExpk3-uxZ6bZKn3rHkIiRMm-UvYu1SqQPmjoeQ8VFrau9gKobOI8/s1600/IMG_2355.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMAUvD564GL7FTnegWZedSjGbtICgXiAonOWZ21-8ULcp23J4ia0oMeVlWO9joIGb5R9aKOoYVZ6BdydpRPy7E0AWExpk3-uxZ6bZKn3rHkIiRMm-UvYu1SqQPmjoeQ8VFrau9gKobOI8/s320/IMG_2355.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Weird overhead shot! I added some sponge weathering to their armour and guns but apparently didnt take a shot of them on their own with this... oops.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQqKEbrAho5ONoU4QG07SH4PqUkd7t-36K6WPplHiOikfgXFl4rUDMwORJHdIxEniG-5ITuzlLjnxzlXJ2nRDSCsTRiDTIGUt9Duquv3o-cLsJoLl4G72JiBAulY70ZT2RgCyZB9tobt8/s1600/IMG_2358.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQqKEbrAho5ONoU4QG07SH4PqUkd7t-36K6WPplHiOikfgXFl4rUDMwORJHdIxEniG-5ITuzlLjnxzlXJ2nRDSCsTRiDTIGUt9Duquv3o-cLsJoLl4G72JiBAulY70ZT2RgCyZB9tobt8/s320/IMG_2358.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The repressor. Initaly weathered black with the brass eagles and red guns it seemed a bit bland. Enter the hazard stripes (and the failure to speed paint!). I ended up adding the grey panels to try and help them tie into the arbite infantry as I ended up doing them much lighter than planned in my head.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The dusty weathering is just terminatus stone stippled on with a tank brush.</div>
<br />

Overhead shot. I added more terminatus stone above where dust might have collected on the tank. The board is a pretty war torn city. Actually the forgeworld urban tiles with ruined buildings in a fenris grey tone.</div>

The dozer blade in place. I'm really happy with how this came out and I'm looking forward to popping this down in a game soon. Just got to get another 5 Adepts done to fill out the squad... flamers for two of them I think. I wanted to have some variety in poses so was looking for my scout bikers as I know they have a fun 'waving my shotgun around by the grip' arm but I can't seem to find them at present..</div>

I felt I should post up my thoughts on the new game. It might help to vent.<br />
<br />
It has been obvious from the complete lack of balance in both warhammer and 40k that GW are phoning in the rules. Despite having produced more and more of their most beautiful models to date both through the end times and in 40k. However it seems they've decided just to give up. I do understand that from a company management point of view this might seem like a very good idea. Alongside the stripping down of staff from stores, the 'Eavy metal team and closing of stores. Cheeky rules re releases such as the new edition of 40k with terrible magic rules and vehicles that supposedly anti vehicle weapons cant actually kill outright or the imperial knight book which added four new weapon options to a codex that already consisted of very few rules and while I admit there was more errata/added formations outside the old book than pages in it having to pay for a new full price book after just a year is to me offensive, particularly given the complete imbalance between imperial and eldar knights and the lack of chaos knights.<br />
<br />
Terrible rules have probably been responsible for some of their problems with sales such as the wood elf book releasing the gorgeous treeman and new combat units that were all nerfed in the book and made to look unplayable next to the boosted archer types most people would have already owned models for. The imperial guard as astra militarum was another, new gorgeous storm troopers that replaced models people probable already had but didn't fit in with the esthetic of the rest of the army. A new very expensive in money terms transport that again has an odd look and feels worse than a chimera with front AV11. Ogryns... why bother? These cost almost as much as terminators in points for one extra shot and no armour worth mentioning and no equivalent combat benefits. The hydra that sixth edition rules turned from one of the most playable tanks in 40k to one of the worst that duels as the wyvern that seems alright as a one of. Deliberate moves to make you buy multiple books such as the skitarii and adeptus mechanicus being seperate even though the mechanicus book clearly having a heavy support choice for its troops due to a lack of models and the skitarii having no HQ are also insulting and books like the eldar making wraith guard and knights have d weapons regardless of balance to try and sell more and jetbikes all being able to take heavy weapons in a clear middle finger wave to the dark eldar kin again simply to sell models with no regard of what will happen to the game.<br />
<br />
So the solution is to give up making rules for one game system. Throw away the support of those who have supported it for years and to give up. The new rules make imbalance even worse and actually quite hard to balance your army for even casual games against friends. When a war scroll can contain three highelf mages on dragons, the emperor karl franz or twenty zombies these are clearly not comparable by war scroll or by wounds.<br />
<br />
The models are undoubtedly gorgeous, but why buy them if the game isn't worth playing. Something as tactical as push your guys in the middle and hope you roll first for combat multiple turns in a row just isn't a game I'm interested in. Nor is one where to use certain units you need to move 60 zombies per turn. Going to be great fun pulling out the vampire counts now eh?<br />
<br />
My biggest question and complaint is why this is a separate game to warhammer?<br />The problem with warhammer was supposedly its complicated rules and large model count which acted as a barrier to new players. Well why not introduce a new game in addition that stepped up to it. That the models for simply ranked up in greater numbers? Even if warhammer was relegated to the specialist games tab that would have been something. I don't understand how GW expect to make more money off a game that makes people buy less books, less terrain, less models, less paints, etc.<br />
<br />
Competing with the popular newer skirmish games such as warmahordes and mallifaux was a good idea, but at the expense of one of their core products seems like madness.</div>

One of many many projects that got put aside I found in a box and randomly painted a bit of.<br />
<br />
These are based on sons of horus reavers and emperors children palantine blades. I used metal blood angel pads and blood drop pads for their shoulders as both kits have legion specific ones. I also used some plastic bits; a blood angel head, helmet and a shoulder pad. I like the idea of the blood angels having the different aspects of the chapter so the savage blood crazed flesh tearers alongside the nobler artisan current blood angels so I've tried to represent both. Now the assault marines have been cut from my troops choice I thought it was about time I painted some up... er... doh! <br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
One of our planets, Pyreus 'Roads', is supposed to be a Skyport. So a landing pad was a must.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Y4157dUyCMeCzWgMa9QQch-ntq0_D0CtaZJEE-aFlbv7-dJ50EEeDoII2bO0kYkky79c3FzVny4KmcA7W1TpQ-A8LVFUW6R70P_jmxUIYhzbB39d5wuVPAlM6FM9Q7wbFQ4CKyBodps/s1600/IMG_1655.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Y4157dUyCMeCzWgMa9QQch-ntq0_D0CtaZJEE-aFlbv7-dJ50EEeDoII2bO0kYkky79c3FzVny4KmcA7W1TpQ-A8LVFUW6R70P_jmxUIYhzbB39d5wuVPAlM6FM9Q7wbFQ4CKyBodps/s320/IMG_1655.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it is! Airbrush project number two.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I went back to my parents and grabbed my old pad out of my wardrobe where it had been sadly unloved for some time. I'd previously based it in brown and then drybrushed it in silvers by hand to try and give it a worn rusty look that hadn't really worked, so I'd painted the eagles bone but chipped.. and that hadn't really worked... so I'd washed bits in different colours to try and save it and that hadn't worked either and my did it look awful.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Enter the airbrush. I sprayed everything with silver. which was a bit light, so I mixed a burnt umber and black wash and toned it down slightly unevenly trying to keep the middle dirtier as if maybe it had been landed on with something with burners. I used white to pick out the aquillae and scroll bits.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWR_U11YxFrnbY4RROSmotBkp-CcOhc5HRTzC567vbw1HIk-184OxcFkcFqndHXgUExON3vOdo00VOhRYQyducIT29Et6UW56Qi6LvcZSFKgh9cE_l5iwK_Eut9CsFBm2goBLYkzZD7A8/s1600/IMG_1653.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWR_U11YxFrnbY4RROSmotBkp-CcOhc5HRTzC567vbw1HIk-184OxcFkcFqndHXgUExON3vOdo00VOhRYQyducIT29Et6UW56Qi6LvcZSFKgh9cE_l5iwK_Eut9CsFBm2goBLYkzZD7A8/s320/IMG_1653.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Top view. the top lights are a pale turquiose. (NB. I suspect I see green and blue slightly differently to some people, so to me this looks a pale green but I could be wrong!) These were done by just aiming down(ish some fails round about if you look closely) with the airbrush at each light in turn and then adding more white to the mix before doing it again, trying to be quick enough my airbrush didn't seize up but slow enough the paint dried on the model. I was pretty happy with how these looked but felt I probably should have been less lazy and do two to three light colours instead of just one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjan9v3BdQ24-wo2g1VXPNn9J4FPbU1S2RqeHhy62G2h1WhOMO2PAjc8Tb8z-o289PTqKOFevzYrttTCpfT3dryneDh4VGdLc3gUDTgyPCllOl9PE26kbb3DQIAJcPYflIz8u472YHwL2M/s1600/IMG_1654.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjan9v3BdQ24-wo2g1VXPNn9J4FPbU1S2RqeHhy62G2h1WhOMO2PAjc8Tb8z-o289PTqKOFevzYrttTCpfT3dryneDh4VGdLc3gUDTgyPCllOl9PE26kbb3DQIAJcPYflIz8u472YHwL2M/s320/IMG_1654.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Bottom view. I decided to mix up the lights and go with yellow, which has the fun contrast when the side are up which helped me feel less like I'd made a mistake with the all turquiose lights on top. I used a bit less silver and more umber wash to give the bottom a more disused rust feel than the cleaner but burnt top.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll try and snap a shot of it when I get it on a board.</div>

Here he is, cunningly hiding on a small patch of dirt in the shadow of a ruined archway that's oddly sitting on a landing pad... (next post spoiler). And the brass details and green highlights on the gun. I love the skull with the bullet hole on the base even if it should have been a helmet as he must have been standing there ages for the flesh to rot off but nonetheless awesome detail.</div>

The base I painted before adding the model so I could just drybrush without fear which is unusual for be because I simply cant be bothered t keep track of different models pieces while I take my sweet time to paint them as I rampantly skip from project to project. I based the arch and rocks in Rhinox hide, painted/heavily drybrushed with eshin grey over leaving brown in cracks, its not really visible to the eye but does change the overall tone. Then a drybrush with dawnstone and a final go with terminatus stone which ties to the sand. The sand was painted in the technical blackfire earth (leaving feet spaces) before being drybrushed in zandri dust and then terminatus stone.</div>

Basically the game seemed largely to boil down to the fact my team mate seized the initiative and we killed the khorne lord so we were a third up in points. Entertaining game against a very good humored opponent. I wondered if anyone had any strategies to play these games without the 'roll for first turn and the win' feel? Forcing people to use 50% reserves or similar? Bit of a pain to need another table to layout those units and take the time to move them on in an already slow format.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My friends and I have been planning a system wide escalation campaign for a few years now and were finally starting. I've set up a blog about our progress and thought I'd link to anyone who was interested in having a look from here: http://alvaraksystemcampaign.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/welcome-to-alvarak-system.html</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you and your groups ever run map campaigns and how did they go?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Arthur kindly had an amazing system map commissioned for us and it seems only right to start with it:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOAF89tyOTVMEH6GyZbYD3AX15Ng4Wmr7gI0pwEDEb_KudgZQtPiX2vnFS8wr9fp99E1xiDuKTOi5x8GZiQFKQwKmL49QixbPcYcL37WUXyIwRPLC9pLo0e9wis8kuP6I6g6MHVUI3Tonp/s1600/Alvarak+system.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOAF89tyOTVMEH6GyZbYD3AX15Ng4Wmr7gI0pwEDEb_KudgZQtPiX2vnFS8wr9fp99E1xiDuKTOi5x8GZiQFKQwKmL49QixbPcYcL37WUXyIwRPLC9pLo0e9wis8kuP6I6g6MHVUI3Tonp/s1600/Alvarak+system.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Made by battleboards.co.uk it's a thing of awe inspiring beauty. Their web address if you fancy checking them out is at:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.battleboards.co.uk/">http://www.battleboards.co.uk/</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My overview shot was a blurry mess so will add one later. Here is a video of some of the making of this project. It's really very impressive and you can see how some of the board tiles light up and some pro brush control!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fHP1PrzkMno/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here comes the image spam! Each of these will get a separate post with background, rules and a terrain list. Each planet has a hexagonal grid in perspex that both protects the tile and allows us to mark our progress during the campaign in little coloured perspex tiles. Genius.</div>

For our campaign my gaming group is painting up a few units you can hire as part of your list if you control enough of their respective planet. One I'm working on at the moment is a gang of twenty esher gangers to be hive scum from a factory hive world. There will be twenty with two heavy stubbers. The rest with be armed with autoguns but I'm using a full mix of models to keep things more interesting. Here's the first six hanging out on my red planet board. I've gone for a tabletop quality style, with neutral browns, silver and greys for the majority of the colours. Some tabards in a yellow and crazy hair colours as a nod to their classic colour schemes.<br />
<br />
Hope you like them.</div>

Just painting this chap up following the white dwarf paint splatter article. I must say the Execution force box game assassin models are really wonderful. Even if I wish the vindicare was aiming his rifle at something so I can point him at stuff and say 'Pew pew'. Simple pleasures. I'm aiming to get all four painted up to be able to pick and choose for our escalation campaign we've just begun (More on that to follow).<br />
Really just this guys gun and base to do. I'm most looking forward to painting the Eversor.. he's running on a wall... ON A WALL!</div>
